He has since worked for several notable aviation corporations, including Flight Safety International, Chautauqua Airlines, and Eastern Air Lines, where he served as a Flight Officer on Boeing 727.
After the closure of Eastern Air Lines in January 1991, Lowdermilk assumed the role of General Manager and Director of Flight Operations for Mountain State Flight Services, Inc. in Morgantown, while also pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration at WVU. Lowdermilk’s career continued to evolve as he joined the State of West Virginia in 1993 as a Manager for the West Virginia Economic Development Office, and later the Governor’s Office of Technology in 1998 as a Technology Officer. In both positions, he was involved in managing large infrastructure programs and coordinating the activities of multiple organizations involved in various projects.
In 2001, Lowdermilk moved to Frederick, Maryland, to join the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) as the Manager of the Airport Support Network. During his tenure, he successfully grew the program from 1000 volunteers to over 1500 in less than 4 years.
In 2004, Lowdermilk returned to Charleston, West Virginia, to launch Professional Aeronautical Services, Inc. Initially starting with one client who purchased a Piper Navajo and needed a pilot, the company has grown to several clients and two aircraft: the original Navajo and a Hawker Beechcraft King Air 300.
